At Romeo Dentistry we start seeing patients as young as three years old. In our office we take the time to ensure that both the patient and the parents are comfortable before and during the appointments. We make sure we answer any questions you may have about your child’s oral health, or upcoming procedures. Please see below some of the services we provide at our office, along with other information you may want to know before your child’s visit.

Routine Cleanings and Exams:

Good dental hygiene is so important for children. Poor oral care can lead to infections, diseases, and other teeth problems. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends scheduling regular dental checkups every six months. It is best to start teaching your child good dental health and hygiene at a young age. Below are some fun tips to encourage your little one to practice good oral hygiene at home!

Let your child help choose their own toothbrush. They can pick one that has their favorite color or character on it. We provide a variety at our office they can choose from.

Read books or watch fun videos that talk about dental hygiene.

Use a timer for 2 minutes or play their favorite song to keep track of the time for brushing.

Treatment:

Cavities (tooth decay) are very common in childhood. If your child is scheduled for treatment, here are some things to know, and some tips to help prepare your child.

We offer nitrous to help ease the nerves and relax the patient before any part of the treatment begins. Ask your child’s Dental Assistant or Doctor for more information.

We have blankets and cuddle buddies to help during the appointment, but if your child has a favorite blanket or stuffed animal that makes them feel better, we encourage you to bring it.

Plan a fun activity following your child’s dental visit. Something that they can look forward to following the appointment.

Play “Dentist” with your child to get them familiar with the Dentist. This show them that it isn’t scary to go to the Dentist, and the Doctors are friendly!
