Here at Romeo Dentistry, we offer two different types of denture options. Conventional and Immediate Dentures. Each of these options has a few steps to make the dentures. We allow half of the full total the day we start the impressions, and you can make payments on the account until the day of delivery when the dentures must be paid in full.

Conventional Dentures

These are made when all teeth are already missing and need to be replaced.

The steps below will vary and are on a per-patient basis. Your assistant and doctor will let you know if you need all the steps.

Step 1: Custom Trays – these are trays made by the lab to fit custom to your mouth for a better impression if needed.

Step 2: Wax Rim – This step is to establish the bite for the dentures to make sure you have a strong bite that comes together as natural teeth do.

You will try-in upper and lower wax blocks and the doctor will adjust it down as needed. You will pick a desired shade for your denture teeth and the lab will add the teeth into the wax for you to try in at your next visit.

Step 3: Wax Try-in with teeth – This step you will try in the wax blocks, and they will have teeth in the spots you are missing teeth to allow you to approve the aesthetics (shape, shade, and size) of the teeth. Keep in mind that this is just wax, and it will not be the material the dentures are made of. So, the fit will be tighter upon delivery.

CHANGES CAN NOT BE MADE AFTER THIS STEP. Please let your assistant and doctor know of any dislikes or things you would like to change. This will put your delivery date back another week. You will be asked to sign an approval form that your like all changes and approve for the lab to go ahead and process your dentures and get them ready for delivery.

Step 4: Delivery Day! This day the dentures will be delivered to you. You and your assistant will try them in to ensure they feel comfortable to you and make sure no adjustments are needed. You will be sent home with a goodies bad that contains a Denture Case, Cleaning tablets, denture brush, and samples of denture adhesive.

Immediate Dentures

These are made to replace all teeth without the patient having to go without teeth until the day we deliver the dentures. This requires a few steps to have the dentures made to ensure the fit and aesthetics are correct, and the patient will be happy.

Step 1: Extract two back molars on all four quadrants of the mouth (additional teeth may be needed). In some cases, Extracts may not be needed before impressions. Your assistant and doctor will inform you of how many teeth need to be taken out and if they would like healing time before the impressions.

Step 2: Take Impressions of the mouth to send to the lab. This will be a total of 3 impressions (Upper and Lower and a Bite impression of how your teeth come together)

Step 3: Custom Trays – these are trays made by the lab to fit custom to your mouth for a better impression if needed.

Step 4: Wax Rim – This step is to establish the bite for the dentures to make sure you have a strong bite that comes together as your natural teeth should. This step you will try in upper and lower waxblocks and the doctor will adjust it down as needed. You will pick a desired shade for your dentures for the lab to put on the setup for your next visit

Step 5: Wax Try-in with teeth – This step you will try in the wax blocks, and they will have teeth in the spots you are missing teeth to allow you to approve the aesthetics (shape, shade, and size) of the teeth. Keep in mind that this is just wax, and it will not be the material the dentures are made of. So, the fit will be tighter upon delivery.

You will be asked to sign an approval form that your like all changes and approve for the lab to go ahead and process your dentures and get them ready for delivery

Step 6: Delivery Day! This appointment is the day we will extract any of your remaining teeth and deliver your dentures the same day. You will have a softliner placed into your denture and you will be asked to wear in for 24 hours. We will see you for a 24-hour post-op check to make sure everything feels comfortable to you and make sure no adjustments are needed. You will be sent home with a goodies bad that contains a Denture Case, Cleaning tablets, denture brush, and samples of denture adhesive.

Post Op and Follow Up Visits

You may be asked to have a 24-hour Post Op Check appointment following the Delivery of your Immediate Dentures. They will make sure you are doing okay after your dental extractions and ensure the fit and bite of your dentures is feeling okay since you were numb at the delivery appointment.
